everybody's sad is a kinetic VR experience for the HTC Vive

Sad, alive objects call for help, each wanting something for itself.

Use intuitive motion and pose-based controls to help these objects.  Learn the importance of caring for others as well as yourself.

Brought to you by puncta, a collaboration between Art + Design: Games + Playable Media and Computer Science: Game Design students at UC Santa Cruz.  everybody's sad is a kinetic VR experience about learning how to balance self care and caring for others.

  • explore the apartment to discover new characters

  • help each character feel better by fulfilling tasks for them

  • discover the importance of self care

Available for HTC Vive

everybody's sad started as a venture to create an experience not based on violence.  We felt that many VR experiences don't take advantage of room-scale technology, and decided to base our design off of this.  We also believe that games have significant meanings behind them, so after weeks of debating, we decided we wanted to make a game that addresses the issues surrounding people pleasing.  We are so proud of our game and are extremely thankful for everyone involved in the process!
